Sonic Whispering is a term we have coined that takes meaning partially from the philosophy and practice of Horse Whispering. It reflects the practice of improvising
from a focus of listening for the inherent and residual sonic properties of traditional musical instruments and other sounding objects as well as the sonic landscape that surrounds us.

Our practice is to listen for the sounds, as well as the spaces between gestures, that can be produced by using instruments and gadgets in ways they were not intended.
Listening for texture and nuance, for obscure, evocative and delicate sounds that occur in a place not usually attended to in expressive or formal music, we unearth
sonic whispers that form the materials we work with to create loosely structured pieces that focus on intent and in-the-moment listening.
