NNM Exclusive - Riccardo Massari Spiritini's Aurali Secondo

Just want to encourage you guys again to use the forums to announce new pieces or new recordings. Otherwise we end up talking about religion or login messages... haha!

Riccardo has finished his hour long fantastic electronic piece. To my ears it reminds me of late Nono and his beautiful quiet spaces, but more electrically charged. The player is at the bottom of the page - it starts with the first part - the second part is directly below it.

Anyways, here's what Riccardo says...

From Riccardo Massari Spiritini:

I am happy to announce that is finally completed the piece AURALIA:
Aurali Primo + Aurali Secondo (an hour of sound...)

Here on NNM we have the only net-version available of a piece still waiting to be premiered live (in its multichannel version).
A CD will be printed in 50 copies , auto edition , will be printed in the following weeks.

Thanks a lot for your support, your comments, and finally for your always inspiring presence on NNM.

Hope you'll enjoy my modest contribution,
I excuse if the piece is a bit long, this work is time-consistent and has to be "continuos" (not divided in "pieces". Just take a bath in it... ;-)

Thanks to Jeff Harrington for facilitating this NNM and this Discussion here!!!!
Thanks a lot to everyone for putting your ears at dispose...
...hope that the sound of AURALIA will influence also the "most hard to move" stereotypes I have heard around sometime, lately also on NNM (with no offense I hope!) .
Gently, like a shamanic rite , I hope vibrations will work on the taste of many...and create a common virtual aural space to walk through together(actually the work is quite influenced by the film Stalker by Tarkovsky...) in different time and from a different space spot on the globe.
There is music that is born out in the mind of people/artists because of the many hours we are exposed to bad-taste commercial Disney-like subculture. The result can be ... emulation of trash or escape...
There is music that here on NNM people write and create for the pleasure of being free and use sound as a mean for that.
We have to work for this cause, augmenting these vibrations.
I am sure that, on a long term, this music is something precious that will remain.
The rest is falling down like falling stars: you will see it for a fragment of your time...then you'll forget about it.

I know it can sound "emphatic", I am sorry, but I really believe this is the way, I don't like "new age music" " neoclassical-film-rhapsodies" etc. These musics I compose for money (like said Frank Zappa...). But finally here we can have a different space on NNM, to share things that are much more deep and interesting, isn't it?
Love,
Riccardo

Very beautiful (there's that word again). A wonderful balance of sound and less sound, space and time. Thank you.

Jeff hit it right on the head.... electrically charged. This is pretty fabulous. It's like looking at pond water under a microscope; teaming with so much life and constant motion, but then again silent and still. One of the best pieces I have heard in a while. Thanks for posting.

I'm thinking video for it could be very Stalker-esque (we just watched it about 3 weeks ago - one of my favorite movies) - greens and orange browns, 8MM film stock, grainy, over-exposed, under-exposed - basically film noise, nature, power lines...

hey... thank you... also I am a fun of Stalker... actually I have a friend here working with super8 old cameras... look for ex http://www.vimeo.com/3112177 they are called Laboratorium as a group) ... I would love to do something with multiple 8 or 16 mm projectors.... there is certainly a problem with the noise of the projectors wheels ... quite loud must say, but great texture....lovely as you describe Jeff!
