NetNewMusic

The Net New Music Community Since 1994

We've been getting boat loads of new members in the past few days, 20 more in the last 36 hours, and I suspect a bunch of them don't know what's going on here. FYI, there are hundreds of Ning groups for jazz folks, folk folks, and indie rock folks. This site is for crazy music folks.

We'll see if people can read.... ;)

I was thinking the same thing but I am glad that we have a Frank Sinatra clone. Every group needs one!

I volunteer for the Dean Martin role, but only if my booze ISN'T fake. Faith wants to be Shirley Maclaine but I want her to be MM. . . . Or at least Angie Dickenson lol

I'm new here and I would appreciate it, if joining DIDNT mean getting attention... I've really got enough of "promotion." People spend more time promoting the music, then they do enjoying it.

Maybe they will arrive unsuspecting and become converts. They'll throw away their Joanie Mitchell LPs and buy Webern op. 9 and Kurtag's Officium Breve and soon will be playing Ligeti Piano Etudes for their friends. We'll become the Mormans of New Music, but we'll still drink beer.

An appreciation of 'new music' makes me appreciate Joni Mitchell all the more lol!

I have never waivered from my dislike of Joni Mtchell's music - I really don't like her upper register singing at all (to be nice about it). Zappa is the other pop/crossover artist I just don't get.

Well I'm a big fan of Joni. She was the only pop artist who seemed interested in developing her music.

I know I belong here because my wife is convinced my music is suitable only for car alarms...
