I was sceptical at first, that anyone could perform Monk on a soprano sax post-Steve Lacy and not be a Lacy-clone, but this guy works it beautifully:

Charlie Rouse - the definitive Monk saxophone.

Gotta say Steve, the three-way piano version of "Well, You Needn't" is a bit blurry. Monk's best stuff was always needle-sharp. His rythmn sections were very precise - and whatever Mon did there was always that steady beat.

Monk was always well-dressed - and the hats, very cool.
