Hello Antonio:This a poem by WaltWhitman called A Noiseless Patent Spider. Will mailed to you to a regular e-mail address. The recording is done in studio with each voice recorded separately.
The "X-mas in the Sahara" is a subtitle made as a quasi program note for a commission for new X-mas music concert.
I often use images of deserted landscapes in my music.
I crossed the Sahara by car from North to South about 10 years ago and it was right around X-mas time. The feeling of social holidays in such a place feels foreign and distant, but still there. I love heavy contrasts too...
Thank you for your comments.
XX
Antonio,
Thanks for your comment. I haven't done any more Yiddish arrangements for some time, though I'm quite happy with the reception my collection has received. I haven't written any choral music for a while, but that could change with a few more performances. In fact, Volti (www.voltisf.org) will be singing my Proverbs settings on 3 concerts in the Bay area next weekend -- if you can make one of them, please come up and say hello.
Best,
Mark
I've got a cream ale in the lager stage right now. I should be able to bottle it after the weekend and then it should be ready by Thanksgiving. We'll see how it turns out!

I didn't get the NACUSA spot. Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks for voting for me!
Do you brew, too?
Actually I didn't know that book, but it looks fascinating. I'll have to try and find a copy.
cheers
Dan
