Bruce Stevens started playing guitar influenced by the same folks as many people his age – Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix. After playing in the rock bands Wounded Moose, Fuzz Factor and The Billion he started focusing more of his energy on improvised music and extended techniques. In 2008 he completed a project, Improv-a-Week where he recorded a new improvisation every week for the year. He performs periodically in Chapel Hill and has appeared on two compilations, Out: 17 Modern Guitarists Salute Derek Bailey (2006) and GtrOblq: The Unraveling Begins (2008).
