Terry Harrington....Where the Hell Are You?????

Very true. He had a legion of classical pianist who admired him, including Horowitz. I do not think any instrumentalist has really toped Tatum. He is the "Old Complexity".

Hard to deny the magical abilities of Tatum. Are you familiar with this guy? Martial Solal - I Got Rhythm

To this day I find it hard to believe that folks in the 40's could 'get' Tatum's music. To me it seems as advanced, as insane as anything I've heard since.

More interesting as a concept than as a piece of music. As a matter of fact, I always thought that is was pretty lame. That is not to say however that what Hiller did was not important, it was just sonically uninteresting.

Fun piece Dr. Combs. You might start giving the corpse of Nancarrow some sleepless nights!

Love this new piece Dan. I can feel the influence of the AACM and the european improvisors movement in this. But with that said, you take the influence and forge your own vision and vocabulary. Impressive as always.

Yeah, that would be great! And maybe, just maybe, Alex Rodriguez will finally earn them elusive pinstripes, as long as his tits don't get in the way (and I'm not talking about Kate H.) (heck, Sabathia, Teixiera and Swisher already had theirs as soon as the constracts were typed up).
