Linda Catlin Smith grew up in New York and lives in Toronto. Her works have been performed and/or recorded by: Vancouver, Windsor and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphonies, Ensemble Kore, Arraymusic, Vancouver New Music, Continuum, Tapestry New Opera, Tafelmusik, SMCQ, Evergreen Club, Eve Egoyan, Joseph Petric, Colin Tilney, Penderecki Quartet, the Bozzini Quartet, and CBC Radio Orchestra, among many others. Her work is supported by the Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Council; in 2005 her work Garland was awarded the Jules Legér Prize. She teaches composition at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Hi Linda. I was teaching a beginning composition this year, and got to play "Knotted Silk," which the students liked.
