Aurali, a new work by Spiritini – (32 minutes sound synthesis)

AURALI (listen to the piece here) aurali text lay-in Aurali ossia dell’aura.

JUNE

June is a strange month. You can feel how people is less awake then during other months. Everyone is a bit tired with exams, school ending and or, as a spectator, some feel thet the others get free and they must go on working the same like in April, May… The Vacation-Holiday paradox though, repeats [...]

Mr.Spiritini

Glad to hear from you, man! I missed your message somehow. What's has been going on in your corner of the world? I've been focusing a lot on improvisation recently. It's something new for me.

Hope all is well.

Ciao Riccardo
good to hear the piano version of Zootropes - although I like the 'orchestrated' version a lot as well. By the way there's something about it that reminds me of a Kevin Volans piece called Into Darkness - it has a similar kind of 'gait'.
I was wondering what Jaques Moran sounded like and then here he is on NNM! Will some recordings from Bar Pastis appear at some point?

Proprio bello. A presto

My dear Riccardo,

I felt really overwhelmed by your beautiful present. Overwhelmed for two reasons: the piece itself and also the fact that the moment I hit play it was as if a vacuum had brought me instantly to the present moment. Somewhere I read that the the now is a gift and that is why it is called present.
Thank you for your double gift!

I was surprised to see the picture too, everything you touch becomes beautiful.

"After Midnight ..." is quite beautiful, Riccardo. Icy and spare, yet warming and intimate. And, yes, night music to be sure. Thanks for this.

The above Google ad in the right hand column here on NNM - must be because of your Aurali!

Lots coming from your studio at the moment - you seem to be riding a good wave. Lots of beautiful music for us.

Do you know my long marimba piece (38 mins) from a few years back? - I posted it on the player on my profile - also long and meditative - and in the first part mostly quiet.

Also do you know Harold Budd's album "Perhaps" (available on Samadhisound) ? - a 70 min live piano improvisation - a tribute to James Tenney - hardly any material - he just keeps it afloat with a wonderful sensitivity to the piano resonances. (A different mood from Feldman though)

By the way that's quite a nice piano sound you've got coming from your studio - what are you using?
