I am having a hard time thinking of a precedent for this type of music. Paul Giger springs to mind but this is more raw. Leroy Jenkins also pops into my head and the angular way of playing has some similarities. The engagement of field recordings is used in a whole new way to me. It's an immersion I guess but not used as a novelty. More like finding edible leaves in my cereal.
